Articulate Your Brand

How well do you articulate your brand? Are you very successful at telling your story? 🤔

As I interview candidates, it is always surprising to see just how many downplay their accomplishments and minimize their brand.

The goal in an interview is to always tell your story in an interesting and memorable way that creates and sells your brand! How? Tell a story that includes the following four elements.

(1) “Set the stage” - Set the stage with some high-level background to let the interviewer know what you’re going to talk about before diving into the details.

(2) “Show how you made a difference” - The response should be crisp and concise with no fluff and packed with details that are engaging and impressive.

(3) “The result” - How did things turn out? Was the outcome positive with lasting effects? Elaborate on this. Be specific.

(4) “The WOW” - Make them walk away from the interview excited about you as a candidate. Don’t be afraid to show them your personality! Skill set isn’t everything.

Every time you speak, think of your responses as selling your brand, and craft your answers always using the four elements above. SELL YOURSELF! The job interview is where you win or lose the offer. 💯
